# Cogo > Cogo is a home and car electrification platform. It gives home and vehicle owners tailored guidance on smart energy upgrades — solar, heat pumps, EV charging, insulation and more — shows the bill savings and carbon impact of each upgrade, and connects them with a nationwide marketplace of 180+ trusted installers. Cogo partners with leading banks and energy retailers (including ASB and Genesis Energy) and serves 70,000+ users in New Zealand, with operations in Australia and the UK. Key facts: across the New Zealand homes modelled on the Cogo platform, a full home electrification plan shows estimated potential savings averaging about NZ$3,000 per year, and cuts household energy emissions by roughly 1.2 tonnes of CO2e per year. These are modelled estimates of potential savings based on the upgrades a household selects, not measured savings after installation. Cogo was founded by Ben Gleisner, an economist and social entrepreneur. ## Main pages - [Home](https://www.cogo.co/): What Cogo does and how the free electrification platform works - [For organisations](https://www.cogo.co/for-organisations): Branded electrification platforms for banks, energy retailers, insurers, employers and local government - [About](https://www.cogo.co/about): Company story, team and mission - [Blog](https://www.cogo.co/content-hub/blog): Practical guides on home energy, electrification and sustainability - [Electro-Influencers](https://www.cogo.co/electro-influencers): Local champions programme with branded platforms ## Tools - [Free electrification tool (NZ)](https://nz.energy.cogo.co/): Personalised home energy upgrade plan — savings, payback and installer quotes ## Guides for New Zealand homeowners - [How do I electrify my home in New Zealand?](https://www.cogo.co/post/how-do-i-electrify-my-home-in-new-zealand): Step-by-step guide to the order upgrades should be done in - [How much can you save by going all-electric in New Zealand?](https://www.cogo.co/post/how-much-can-you-save-going-all-electric-nz): What the savings look like by upgrade, and what drives them - [Is solar worth it in New Zealand in 2026?](https://www.cogo.co/post/is-solar-worth-it-nz-2026): Costs, payback periods and when solar does and does not stack up - [Do you need a battery to make solar worth it in New Zealand?](https://www.cogo.co/post/do-you-need-a-battery-to-make-solar-worth-it-nz): Whether to add storage, and what it changes - [Should you replace gas hot water with a heat pump?](https://www.cogo.co/post/gas-hot-water-vs-heat-pump-nz): Comparing hot water heat pumps against mains gas and LPG - [Hot water is about a third of your power bill — how to cut it](https://www.cogo.co/post/how-to-cut-your-hot-water-power-bill-nz): Practical ways to reduce hot water energy use - [Is a second-hand EV worth it in NZ in 2026?](https://www.cogo.co/post/second-hand-ev-worth-it-nz): Running costs, battery health and what to check - [Can you get an EV through your employer in New Zealand?](https://www.cogo.co/post/ev-through-your-employer-nz): Novated leases, FBT and employer EV schemes ## Guides for Australian homeowners - [Is a home battery worth it?
